Town looking at locations for new splash park

The town of Kipling is looking into what the town’s water and sewer costs would be for putting a new splash park in.

The Kipling Lions are fundraising for a splash park in Kipling, and the town is looking at three different locations in town and assessing the costs for water and sewer in each of those locations.

Sewer line replacement
At their meeting on November 10, the town passed a motion to cover half of the cost of a sewer line that runs from the town main to a house. As per the town policy, the, the town pays half the cost. The line will cost the town $4,500

Arena open for the season
The Kipling arena has officially opened for the season. This year the arena will see use from the skating club, the U11 AAA Badgers, three rec hockey teams, and from Kipling Minor Hockey.

Town hoping to pave part of airport runway in 2026
CAO Brenna Ackerman reported that she has submitted the Community Airport Partnership Program grant for the airport. The town is hoping to get part of the pavement on the runway redone. The Community Airport Partnership is a provincial program that provides funding for regional, community-owned airports in Saskatchewan.

CN culvert replacement
The town would like to replace some culverts under the train tracks on the north side of town near McMillan Motor Products. The town would like to install larger culverts in that location. The current culverts are old and in need of replacement due to age, and also a bit too small, with water backing up at times. CAO Brenna Ackerman said she had filled out a CN culvert application form which she will be submitting to CN.
