The town of Moosomin is planning a lot of paving this year.
The first section will be the 600 block of Ogilve Street, which spans from Broadway Avenue to South Front Street on the east side of town. This section is estimated to cost around $111,000, and with both the asphalt pavement and the new curb included in that total. This new paved section of the road will be about 19,600 square feet in area.
Second is the stretch of South Front Street that spans from Carlton Street to Moose Street. This is just around the corner from the previous road. The cost of the paving for South Front will be around $174,000 for around 20,000 square feet.
The Town is also planning to get the rest of the Mike Schwean Arena parking lot paved and ready by the end of the summer. The zone they are looking to work on is south of the current paved section of the lot. It has a total area of just over 18,000 square feet, and will cost around $89,000.
Lastly, the Public Works shop will be given a small paved apron as well. It will be the smallest of the main projects for the summer, with a total covered area of 2200 square feet, and costing about $13,000.
As always, small patches will be put in around town to fix up the wear and tear that the streets face over the years.
Make sure to stay up to date on road work in town and be conscious of heavy equipment on the roads.
