A show and shine held in Moosomin in 2022.

Cool cars, cool beverages, and hot barbecue—what else could you ask for on a Friday afternoon at the beginning of summer? The Moosomin Communities in Bloom is looking to entice swarms of people to their car show and farmer’s market on June 14 over at Bradley Park from 4 to 9 pm. The event is free for all ages to attend, and for those looking to enter a vehicle in the car show, the fee has noted a price drop.

“We actually did a mega price drop, and it’s actually $10,” explained Communities in Bloom Project Director, Jasmine Davidson.

The event is a fundraiser for the local Communities in Bloom group, looking to build on the excitement of last year’s fantastic four-bloom showing.

“I am planning on doing a Communities in Bloom flower garden,” Davidson shared of one plan in store this year. “So just a colourful little garden area for people to hang out in.”

For those wondering what flowers to buy to be in line with the annual colour theme, this year is dedicated to orange. As with last year, the town will be teaming up with the Moosomin Regional Park and the Pipestone Hills Golf Club to rekindle some of that 2023 magic.

Last year, the judges visited Moosomin in July and Davidson anticipates organizing a date for this year’s judging soon.

“We get to decide with them what date, we get to figure that out together, she explained. “I should be hearing from them soon.”

The car show and farmer’s market also falls on a night of slo-pitch, plus Davidson mentioned other car shows happening on the Saturday (Rocanville) and Sunday (Maryfield) of the same weekend.

“It could be a full weekend of car shows,” she said.
