Tim Horton Smile Cookies are on sale this week from Monday, April 27 to Sunday, May 3, with this year’s proceeds at Moosmin’s Tim Hortons going toward KidSport Whitewood-Moosomin and Area.
Moosomin Tim Hortons has been one of the top fundraisers in Saskatchewan for Smile Cookie Week for the last few years, and is hoping to set the record again this year.
KidSport Whitewood-Moosomin and Area offers support to low-income families and kids interested in playing sport.
Moosomin Tim Hortons Franchisee Owner Greg Crisanti says his team is excited to see how cookie sales go this week.
“We are really excited to have the return of our Smile Cookie Campaign again. It runs April 27 until May 3 and 100 per cent of the proceeds are going toward KidSport Whitewood-Moosomin and Area.”
“We are very excited to bring them on as a recipient this year to help the kids in need of equipment and wanting to play sports. We are looking forward to selling a lot of cookies for a great cause and as always hoping to break the record book.
“Every year we like to switch it up as far as recipients. We are looking forward to partnering with KidSport and their board to see what we can do to raise some funds.”
Tim Hortons Moosomin has been known over the past three years to set records during Smile Cookie week in Saskatchewan and Canada.
“Moosomin has been a leader in the Smile Cookie Campaign world and we’ve really taken it to the next level,” said Crisanti. “I believe it is our community, our guests, our team, and the volunteers behind it. It really isn’t one person that makes this happen. It is everyone from my staff, to the volunteer decorators, to the businesses that get behind it to everyone who comes into Tim’s every day that week not ordering just one but dozens of cookies for this cause.”
Each cookie is sold for $2.
Chair of KidSport Whitewood-Moosomin and Area Beth Oslund says she and the board are excited to be this year’s Smile Cookie recipients.
“We are very excited. This is the first we’ve been chosen for anything like this and this big for KidSport Whitewood-Moosomin,” she says.
“We help a fair amount of families in the area. Between skating, hockey, swimming, baseball, soccer, football—about 30 families last year in the area.
“All of the money raised will go right back toward all of our local sports organizations as well as equipment for kids. It will mean more money to support more families who need it in our area and for the kids interested in playing sports. Come out and buy some cookies!”
