Chamber meeting Tuesday, Oct. 22

The next meeting of the Moosomin Chamber of Commerce is set for Tuesday, October 22. There is lots on the agenda:

New business
Kari Meyers of Kari’s Pharmacy will be at the meeting to introduce her new business. Kari’s Pharmacy will open this fall and will be Moosomin’s third pharmacy, alongside Pharmasave and IDA.

Spookarama
The Spookarama committee will make a presentation on this year’s Spookarama dance. The Chamber, the RCMP and the McNaughton High SRC chamber jointly sponsor Spookarama, a dance that keeps the kids off the streets later on Halloween night.

Holiday Smile Cookie campaign
There will be discussion on the Tim Hortons Holiday Smile Cookie campaign. Proceeds of Holiday Smile Cookie sales in Moosomin this year will go to the McNaughton High School renovation project.

Municipal Candidates Meeting
Tyler Thorn will discuss plans for the Chamber of Commerce Municipal Candidates Meeting set for Monday, November 4. All municipal candidates will be invited.

SCC Local Gift Card Fundraiser
There will be a presentation on the MacLeod School Community Council Gift Card fundraiser.
Last year the school sold $140,000 worth of gift cards to local businesses to help raise money for the elementary school.

Moosomin Food Share
Samantha Campbell of the Moosomin Food Share will speak about the Food Share’s plans for bringing in donations through the Christmas season, including the 12 Days of Christmas promotion and events around the CP Holiday Train visit to town.

Christmas Events
There will be discussion on Christmas shopping events including:
• Moonlight Madness on Thursday, December 5
• The CP Holiday Train, which will stop in Moosomin over the noon hour on Friday, December 6
• Santa Day on Saturday, December 7.
• The Moonlight Madness Cash Card promotion and the Countdown to Christmas promotion.

The meeting is Tuesday October 22 at 11:45 am at the Canalta Hotel in Moosomin. Lunch is served and everyone is welcome.
