It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and wife Alice, at age 81 years.

Alice was born in Indian Head and moved to Langbank District with her family in 1960. She met and married the love of her life and the boy next door, Donald Cox, in 1961.

Alice and Don lived in Regina for a few years before they moved to the former Aime Jalbert farm near Kennedy.

Alice was a true partner in the farm with Don until her passing. She could do any farm chore from haying, to grain crop harvest, to caring for the livestock.

Through lean times and times of plenty, Alice always contributed to the farm. She raised many chickens in her commercial operation for years. Her market garden and then her commercial greenhouse were popular local attractions, which suited Alice fine. She loved showing folks around.

Her many interests included: ceramics, 4H, Sunday school, peacocks, flower arranging, oil painting, traveling with friends and family, as well as cake decorating, sewing costumes and antiquing. There wasn’t much that Alice didn’t try. In her later years, her flower garden and her garden nursery were activities that both her and Don enjoyed doing together.

Alice was a very generous and caring woman who welcomed everyone into her life.

She is survived by her husband Donald of 63 years; her children: Douglas (Laura) Cox, Susan (Darryl) Hass and Jim (Marcie) Cox; grandchildren: Jason, Ashley (Neil), Sarah (Brodie), Brian (Annabelle), Glendon (Mel), Elizabeth, Kathleen and Amanda and great-grandchildren: Ethan, Jack, Bennett, Cade and Gabriel.

Alice is also survived by her sisters: Melnie, Laurie, Doris and Lynn; her brother Ronald; sisters-in-law Janet (Jerry) and Roberta as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and close family friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Gilbert and Elsie Prior; Harold and Sadie Cox and brothers-in-law Jerry and Lee.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 5 at 2 pm in the Kennedy Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kennedy Memory Garden Box 268, Kennedy, SK S0G 2R0 c/o Jean Sostorics or Kipling Integrated Heath Centre, Longterm Care Activity Fund, Box 420, Kipling, SK S0G 2S0.
